Pet Day.

On Friday all the students went to pet day and most people brought a pet. At pet day there were calves, lambs, sheep, cat and rats and there were many more. When I arrived at school I first looked at the cage pet and my favorite cage pets were the cats and the rabbits. When school started every one went in the class rooms to look at the posters, the vegetable creations and the sand saucer but I didn't  get a first, second or third prize. At around lunch time we did activities which were fun. One of the activities  you had to blow a dog whistle and I came first in my group. At the end of the day my family helped clean up and then we went home.     

Mud Muster

On Saturday my family went to the Mud Muster. My mum, my sister, my aunty and Mathew took part in it.  Some of the obstacles were  they had to climb over a wall, go under and over tyres in the mud, go through freezing cold water with ells and slimy frogs in it, climb up hills and go down a slide and go through  a dam. When my mum was going  past the finish line, Gemma, Caitlin,Izzy and I  joined in so we went past the finish line together.  When the team got cleaned up  Caitlin, Gemma  and I went for a walk in a paddock, there were lots of prickles soI got pricked heaps. After we got back we got something to eat and then it was prize giving. Kimberly got a prize and Mathew got a prize. After the Mud Muster was over we got on a bus and went home and that day was a very fun day.    

My Flying Report

Last week Room 2 picked a famous flyer and find information about them. The famous flyer I picked was the Wright brothers. I learnt that the Wright brothers are known for flying the first airplane. The Wright brothers came from Indiana, Ohio. The Wright brothers built the first powered aircraft and they built different flying machines. It sad because the Wright brothers are dead because Orville died of a heart attack at the age of 76 in 1943 ,Wilbur died  1912 at the age of 41 but I don't now how he died.       

My Holiday

On Monday we, which means Seth, Gemma, Izzy, Ronan and me went to Taupo. When we got there Juanita and my mum were in the garden trying to look for the key and Juanita found it. After they found it they told us to go look around the back so they could pegs the bedrooms. We finished looking around the back and went in side and the house was fancy. We were sleeping up stairs which was cool. Inside our bedroom there were bunk beds. Ronan, Izzy and Seth were in one big room. Then  Rebekah and Lauren turned up and we showed them were they were sleeping then we played hide and seek. After that we had lunch which was nice. After that we went swimming at the AC Bars and that was fun. We all went home and ate our dinner which was hamburgers. It went dark and we played a game then we went to bed. In the morning we got breakfast and got dressed and we went to the prawn park. When we got there we all got ready and half of us went fishing for prawns and the other half went on the tour. I went fishing for the prawns. When the other group finished the tour they went fishing for the prawns and at the and of our fishing time we got 11 prawns all together then we cooked them and ate them. After eating them we went on a walk and I got soaking wet and we played on the play ground then we went to the house we were staying in. After the day was done and we had our dinner which was takeaways and I had KFC. After that we went to bed and in the morning we ate breakfast. Bex and Lauren left and the rest of us went shopping later we went home.

The Jabberwoky

Last night on Wednesday the school did a play called the Jabberwocky. We did the play in the hall and I was a singer as well as Gemma. I think the play went well because we practiced and practiced it a lot and on the day all we did was practice. After the play I was tired because I sang three songs and we had to sit in this little room and sit on little chairs which was annoying.

The Best Trip Of My Life

On Monday room 2 went to the mountain and went skiing. We had different groups which were independent, explorer and beginners. I was in the beginners because I had never been skiing but I have now. All of us had big lunches because we were there for the hole day. On the way I got car sick but I didn't spew up. At the mountain I only fell off my skies once because in my ski lesson we went down a big hill but we went down in a line which was hard. I had lots of fun and every one else probably had fun too. For the next trip I hope we go snow boarding.

Bumble Bees

This week room two had to chose an interesting animal or insect. My interesting insect is the bumble bee. I have three interesting facts about the bumble bee. Firstly I found out that the bumble bee drinks nectar and eats pollen. Secondly the bumble bee picks its food up with its feet and lastly the bumble bee can fly by the small wings that work by causing air to flow.  

The house challenge

On Friday the school had a house challenge. The house challenge was to design a house shield and we could put any thing on it, like smashed cd, fabric, paper and paint. In the end, when we all finished it and we put them in the tin shed, Mr Walker pronounced the winners but it wasn't Tawa! It wasn't Miro! It was Kowhai! All of us had a great day and I think Kowhai deserved it.

 The Brazilian wandering spider was found in some areas around America and South America
The Brazilian wandering spider is extremely aggressive in nature and is known to be the cause of spider venom.   

Be Funky

Today Room1 and 2 were doing our be funky. We learnt about Andy Warhol  and looked at his famous paintings. We went on the be funky web site and we did some of our own and they look very cool. I found out that Andy Warhol took black and white pictures and painted over them with colour. If you want to do one of these you will have to go on be funky's web site.

Museum Visit

On Thursday Room 2 went to the museum to learn more about flight. It was cool there and here are some of the things we learnt. We leant that birds use their feathers to help them fly, that birds need special type of feathers to fly and also we learnt about bird bones and mammoth bones.
